Wherever I May Roam

Novel about a young Palestinian girl who is a parallel to Anne Frank. She lives in an attic during the recent Israeli attacks. In this case she could easily be saved by calling the UN with modern cell phone technology, but unfortunately the provider she signed up with has shoddy service in the area and she is “roaming” in the attic, thus the call would be too expensive and she dies.
